Instructor background

My name is Christine Graham. I have been instructing for 17 years, competed in agility, obedience trials, conformation, and the breeding of Shelties under the prefix Wyndenfog.

I started my career in Petawawa Ontario with obedience classes where I was responsible for helping to introduce agility to that area. Upon moving to Nova Scotia in 1992, I worked with a local instructor and started my own business in 2000 in West Chezzetcook and Dartmouth (at the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital.) I believe in small classes and individual personal attention so everyone can enjoy coming to class, owner and dog alike.

Puppy socialization
Welcome to the world of dog ownership. To help you with your new puppy I offer a class that benefits novice owners and the experienced owner to start you on the right foot with your puppy.
This class gives your puppy the opportunity to socialize with other puppies its own age in a safe environment.
This is a class structured to help with many problem areas such as:

  • House training
  • Biting
  • Crate training
  • Custom help as required.

We also do basic commands to help you on your way to a well-rounded dog.

Basic obedience

The method used in the class is positive reinforcement. You will condition your dog to a clicker (preferred) or a word and this will be the building block for the training. Along with targeting, you will be teaching your dog to sit down, stay, come and walk on a loose leash. The number of students per class is limited to six to give you personal and individual attention. The classes are held inside and we do go out to bring a practical side to the training.

Intermediate

This set of classes is a continuation of the beginner class to help make your dog a better member of your family. Practical behaviours will be taught and our recall and heel work will be refined.

Advanced

This is a new class to give the dog owner that is looking for training beyond the intermediate but not at the competion level. The content is geared to the individual members of the class. I cover a broad spectrum of commands to increase the bond and relationship between dog and owner.

Competitive Classes

These classes are offered on request for those wishing to compete in CKC sanctioned obedience trials.

Behavioural Problems

Private consultations are offered to help with issues that cannot be covered in a class situation.

Boarding

Located in West Chezzetcook, I have a small boarding kennel that offers personalized service. The dogs have individual heated runs with access to a fenced run. The dogs also have playtime each day in a large fenced outdoor area.
